CHBC
The CHBC designation helps healthcare professionals distinguish a knowledgeable, experienced consultant. To become a Certified Healthcare Business Consultant, one must:
- Have served as a business or practice management consultant in the healthcare field for at least three years.
- Have passed a rigorous examination covering business and financial management expertise.
- Maintain at least 35 hours of approved continuing education credits each year.
- Document adherence each year to an industry specific code of ethics.

- Expertise in one or more specialties, along with a holistic view of the total healthcare practice and its business needs.
- B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent.
- Experience in the healthcare field for a minimum of three years.
- an understanding of the whole range of business issues with which your practice must contend.
- Successful completion of the ICHBC certification course and rigorous examination.
- Commitment to the ICHBC code of ethics and practice standards.
